Integumentary System
System Interactions:
The integumentary system interacts with the excretory system, because the integumentary system contains sweat glands that secrete fluids to cool body, but this also provides in the help of eliminating liquid waste from the body. Another system the integumentary system works with the digestive system, because the enzymes in the sweat are able the digest bacteria, and that helps break down food for the digestive system. The integumentary also works with closely with the circulatory system and the suface capillares, which open when your body needs to cool off and close to conserve heat.
System Diseases:
A disease of the integumentary system is Psoriasis where the cells of the epidermis are created at a faster rate, and the result is thick and callously skin on elbows and knees. Another diease is Alopecia Areata and this disease is a non-contagious autoimmune disorder, wherein, the immune system attacks the hair follicles, and hair is lost in some or all regions of the body.
Also Dermatitis is the inflammation of the skin and is not life threatening but can make a person feel self-conscious.
Homeostasis:
The integumentary system remains homeostasis by sweating to keep the body cool and cause a shivering action to tell us that we need to get warm, because our body is too cold.
